Not really, no.

I put down a mouse trap that week, but nada.

A few days ago I got up to the lightbulb though, and there were what could be interpreted as a “water marks” on it, so I guess a leak could have come through the ceiling and dripped off that? But it hasn’t happened again, and I can’t work out where above it a leak would come from, it’s just the entrance hall / stair to the top floor flat.

Had fun with DPD last year:

  • ordered some birthday presents for my daughter via Amazon Prime;
  • delivery attempt #1: received an email from DPD saying “we couldn’t deliver your parcel as you weren’t in” (NB: we were in) together with a blurred picture that could have been anywhere. No card through the door either.
  • delivery attempt #2 (the day before my daughter’s birthday): same as #1
  • after about four phone calls: drove 44 miles to the DPD depot (Snetterton, Norfolk FYI) and after a half an hour wait collected a battered Amazon box which contained my daughter’s presents.

Managed to get about ÂŁ75 in compensation, though (plus a courtesy box of Thorntons chocolates, a DPD pen and pencil set and a DPD travel mug).

Fuck! We have one of those but it has a different fabric covering!

Word of warning, do not put any weight on the foot rest as it will break. Currently considering chucking out our footrest because some clown sat on it and broke it.

Carpet company has left two rolls of carpet, one roll of padding and some wooden trim. We asked them to collect and they suggested we could make a rug. Told them again to please collect and they came for the padding but left the rest. Asked them to come back again for the rest but still waiting…

Indeed. Amusingly they arrived without warning and we weren’t in, so we had further issues arranging a time to accept the apology parcel.
