Jesus, what a sad incident all round. That poor victim.
Is there not usually a bit of a build up before a stage dive? I’ve never seen someone just leap into the crowd as suddenly and unexpectedly as that before
A lot of discourse about it being a freak accident but the venue makes a clear point of no stage diving and last year someone posted on Insta about them trying to get mosh pits going in improper shows and they replied with fuck you and made merch about it
They also are still doing shows which I get they have obligations but not sure I could go out after paralysing someone
Lead singer is also 6 ft 6
Reminds me of the singer from Ou Est le Swimming Pool, who killed himself after injuring a girl who didn’t get out of the way quickly enough from his stage dive and her father wrongly told him they were paralysed.
Saw this happen at a saul Williams performance at ATP. Guy dived into the crowd unprompted and landed on a woman’s head. Saul was apologetic about it, think it was a friend of his.
“The PFP also notes that Trophy Eyes faced controversy related to stagediving last year. When someone who attended the band’s show at the Masquerade in Atlanta chastised the band for creating an unsafe environment by “encouraging mosh pits and crowd surfing,” the band replied in the comments, “fuck you.”
What a jackass
I had someone land on my head a few years back at Outbreak and my neck hurt for days afterwards. Obviously no way near as bad but I think people forget how delicate spines can be
i couldn’t care less if stage diving/crowd surfing was completely outlawed, selfish and dangerous and overall pointless
Were you at the Outbreak a couple years ago when someone potentially broke their neck during Show Me The Body? Absolutely terrifying stuff (I think they were ok in the end though iirc)
If you’re a 6’ 6" bloke throwing yourself into a crowd, I don’t think any injury/harm anyone experiences as a result is an “accident”. It’s being a thoughtless prick. Stage diving, crowd killing, all that kinda shit killed my interest in heavy music for years.
aye, also happened at the last Dillinger Escape Plan show I ever saw.
Used to think this was the best video on the internet
what do you think is now?
Vernon Kays running man
