Asked if she accepted money from fossil fuel companies, Castor said, “I cannot think of a contribution from an oil company or fossil fuel company, but I cannot say without going back and with a fine-toothed comb that there wasn’t something in the past.”

According to the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics, Castor accepted more than $73,000 from the energy and natural resources sector over her 12-year tenure in Congress

lol “fine-toothed comb”

considering there ain’t much a psychopath like mattis won’t support, it’s unsurprising this freak quitting because the president vaguely wants to scale down the US’s involvement in multiple wars. and naturally bootlicking shame pigs like CNN are doing the performative outrage.

Major General James Mattis, commander of the 1st Marine Division, was scathing of those who suggested a wedding party had been hit. “How many people go to the middle of the desert … to hold a wedding 80 miles (130km) from the nearest civilisation? These were more than two dozen military-age males. Let’s not be naive.”

When reporters asked him about footage on Arabic television of a child’s body being lowered into a grave, he replied: “I have not seen the pictures but bad things happen in wars. I don’t have to apologise for the conduct of my men.”

thank you for your service, you detestable piece of shit

Funny seeing people going ‘oh no Mattis was one of the only remaining moderating influences on Trump, what will we do now?!’

Not really convinced about people being alive TBH. Probably just as many dead thanks to Trump plus his anti environmental stance will probably kill many more.

Is there a US politician aside from maybe Bernie Sanders who doesn’t have such a stance?

No but his appears to be completely intractable whereas I would expect a Clinton regime to do more.

Basically getting grumpy and dubious about Clinton is a very sailed boat. We have the worse of the two in power by a long shot. The fact that whichever party the president comes from it’s not great is by the by.

Framing like that implicitly says that Trump is on some level a better option. He isn’t though.

Holy shit that jacket

breathtakingly cynical article even by this malignant fedora twat’s standards

And Warren’s desire to aid allies doesn’t preclude her from demanding that U.S. troops be brought “home from Afghanistan and Iraq.” It would be interesting to find out how she squares this exit strategy with her support for “human rights abroad,” since a U.S. exit would be a boon to horrific human rights violators such as the Islamic State and the Taliban. But Warren never confronts the obvious contradiction.
