Does anyone know if @moker has written an essay explaining why this is good yet?

He’s the hero we need right now.

My wife’s cousin in Michigan is weeping over Facebook this morning about the result. She voted for Jill Stein. I think her husband did too, and has just posted: “Wow. Well at least now DC will have to listen”.

Just… what?

It’s only a matter of time.

Yeah I’m really not convinced Bernie would’ve done better. He may’ve connected better with poor whites, but faltered in other areas. For all the bluster poor whites make about not being listened to, it seems like they would much prefer a scapegoat over actual solutions; Trump’s strategy is basically just a louder version of the Republican strategy for the last 50 years.

Can’t blame ppl for going third party. it’s a valid choice.

it’s not even just going 3rd party, it’s just plain not voting.

yeah, now that is a much less excusable move.

Imagine if the US (and world) wasn’t sexist too. Given everything that Trump has said, done and said he’ll do (sexual assault, bigotry, war crimes…) They still didn’t vote for Hilary - emails I think are a bit of a red herring, and are something people say as a counter argument or to cover up their real reasons.

It’s a joke of system that someone can draw, or even win the popular vote but lose the election and the winner can remain uncontested.

Breaking my heart a bit to think about Michelle Obama having to magnanimously welcome and greet the fucking Trumps at the inauguration next year.

Going third party (especially in a swing state) is indefensible in my opinion and something that really seems to be something that only people who know they aren’t at risk and are selfish would do.

Think this might be it - some folks just won’t vote for a woman, but this gives them a pretext if they want one.

I wish people were that interested in email server management.

Hey Melania, here’s a copy of my first speech as first lady, just to save you some time.

Can’t condemn it, I vote for parties I know won’t get in because I refuse to vote for the least worse party. But i suppose the stakes are lower where I am.

Yup, similar over here tbh. I live in a completely comfortable Labour seat so I voted green at the GE last year, no chance I’d do that in a LAB-CON marginal

Would you say that about any other set of people?

It’s divisive shite like that that helps the right get in

Trump looking set to install non-establishment figures like Gingrich and Giuliani in key positions. He’s a breath of fresh air, not like those other politicians!
