Fuck, didn’t realise Steve Clarke was managing them. Top, top bloke. Loved him as a Chelsea player when I was a kid.

TKC vs @Severed799 in the Grant Holt derby tomorrow

take it you’ll all be watching, the Liverpool derby’s a dead horse

sure, why not?

yeah no chance Thistle aren’t getting absolutely pumped tomorrow

enjoy @Kallgeese et al, very jealous but what Thistle lacks in football quality they make up for in atmosphere/patter

fyi, the main stand tends to be more family orientated, whereas “the shed” behind the goal is far livelier. It’s free seating either way, so just whatever atmos you want to get involved in (even if you go behind the goal, no one will give you grief for not knowing songs or whatever, they’ll be too busy shouting at the players/Archie)

Pro-tip, There will be lots of this song given it’s Killie:

ha man this made me nostalgic for this game, when we confirmed promotion by beating Morton, Joe (from Frauen) and I were so burst, it was amazing.

Best moment other than securing top 6 this time last year… how the mighty have fallen :frowning:

It’s a good job absolutely nothing of note can happen in the Barclays BPL League this weekend, or there would probably be complaints about the Scottish football chat here.

just got off the phone with Parsers, and a decision has been made to uphold the ban on Scottish chat over the weekend meat. Tax season, you see, and Sean can’t afford to piss off the advertisers even more.

you didn’t really wanna hear my thoughts on Villa vs Norwich anyway

I actually enjoy Scottish games. Honestly. Watched one recently, St Johnstone v Hibs. Think it was on a Friday night, it finished 1-1, was properly end-to-end, it was pissing down, the stadium was deserted, it was quite heated, and it was just really nice and therapeutic.

There’s a particular thing i like about Scottish commentators and results announcers. They’re much more like old, traditional English broadcasters than the modern ones south of the border. There’s something really soothing and reassuring about a grouchy old Scottish man talking.

Even the pundits are better, once you understand that Chris Sutton (though English, obviously) is Scotland’s version of Robbie Savage, and Michael Stewart’s their sort of Graeme Souness, in that he clearly doesn’t actually like football. Avoid them two and the coverage of Scottish football’s brilliant. The lower down the leagues you go the more watchable it is. There are regularly eight, nine, ten-goal games in the lower leagues with real DIY footage and comms.

Gonna be a beautiful weekend weather-wise so I might not actually watch any football at all.

No, I mean it.

there’s a country who Messi and Ronaldo have scored world cup goals against

Off to the rather less glamorous Cardiff v Wolves tonight I’m afraid. Best wishes to the UTIs, and remember, drink plenty of water.
