I’m off work today and my daughters are off school. The teenage one is in love and has been playing a series of melancholy improvisations on the piano since about 7am. I feel like I’m living inside an arty film with this soundtrack to my day and I haven’t even got out of bed yet.

I hate it with every fibre of my being.

Mate, we still use some archaic spreadsheet that we print out and hand to finance. And have to photocopy all our receipts. Given that I put in 6-8 claims a month it’s hell. Would take Concur back in a heartbeat.

Fuck Concur.

It was a good weekend. Friday I played WipeOut like a nerd, Saturday I saw my boy and a mate from MK, Sunday I went for lunch at my folks’ then the girl I’m sort of seeing but not officially and whatever came over, and she went home at 5 yesterday. It was good.

Back at work, and I’m postponing the inevitable by installing an update and telling myself I can’t possibly do anything until it’s done.

In the end did you put the cocktails you had with me on your expenses?

Might see if I can give my payrise back in exchange for an assistant.

Hah no I wish. I checked and we have a £5 a night alcohol limit.

Aaaah damnit! Next time we’ll need to find some cheaper cocktails.

SNOW in Glasgow is coming down, it’s not lying though.

We had good weather this weekend- a bit parky but glorious sunshine for most of the time.

Had a lovely break, marred by getting some shitty news about an old family friend last night, which has left me feeling a bit empty and CBA.
Today I am going to buy a wall planner for home and start planning some nice things to do this summer.

Still on honeymoon, lucky me

Just checked into our next hotel. We have a private villa, plunge pool and a butler (end of boast)

Still, champagne solidarity with today’s back-to-work lot yeh :fist:t2:

I bloody knackered today. We had a houseful all weekend, then I stayed up late uploading photos to facebook, which I thought would take about fifteen minutes but ended up taking an hour and a half.

I might need to inject coffee straight into my eyes.

What is the butler’s name please

Think we can claim one ‘reasonable’ alcoholic drink with dinner and then another £5? Not sure as I’m not in the habit of drinking on my own on work business.

Split my 7 night hotel bill into identical costs per night? Literally no numbers divide exactly by 7, pal.

When I was in Dublin for work last year I know that my boss was out until 2am on the Guinness every night, which I think he managed to claim because a) he has a company credit card, and b) he was out with other people from work. I only managed to get through drinks with meals

My favourite was when it did the room rate in GBP but the local tax in EUR then moaned at me for something being in the wrong currency no matter what way I did it.

Used to have a job where I fell within the sales department. Big boss was an old school sales guy and would immediately distrust anyone who went to bed on a work trip before 2am or even remotely sober. Would make comments like ‘it’s not like the old days, eh’ if I went to bed at midnight. Glad I got out of that one.
