Conor Wickham done his ACL. Was really starting to look good for us as well in the last few games. Been far better and more up for it than Benteke.

Hard to put how sad that crash is into words. So many victims when you bear in mind the lives lost themselves, those who didn’t travel, the loved ones of everyone involved, the supporters.

It seems to happen a disproportionately often doesn’t it - entire sporting teams or large parts of them being wiped out by air crashes. It famously happened to United, Torino a few years before, Alianza Lima in the 80s, Zambia in the 90s, Suriname, Danish and Ukranian sides, and outside of football there have been instances of hockey and rugby teams meeting the same fate.

I hope they go ahead with post-humously awarding them the title. For me that’s the most obvious way of paying tribute, but less important than the support people will need emotionally and financially. Hopefully FIFA intervene and do whatever they can. If something like that happened here i don’t think anyone would begrudge them something like that.

Was thinking the same thing earlier actually. It seems more prevalent than it statistically should be somehow.

Just saw a video where one of the players had the news that he was going to be a dad broken to him by his teammates just 20 days ago. It’s absolutely fucking devastating.

Apparently the other Brazilian top-flight sides have petitioned the league to make them immune from relegation for three years and to waive any fees for loans. Like you say, really hope the administrative bodies can deal with this in a proper manner.
