Had nice Turkish yesterday and avoided any social faux pas.

Feeling a little like there’s the onset of a cold coming, full of work cba for now, full of football cba for later. Don’t want to stand in a freezing turnstile for two hours to greet 30 odd people.

Also, overheard a conversation equating ogling at women with being a man. ‘Five years ago I could be a man and it was okay to check a woman out. Now I can’t be a man, people find it offensive.’ :roll_eyes::flushed::confounded:

I think basically Daren Jesse Davis has the sort of name that’s easy to Google. And he’s done something really shitty in the past that he’s trying to hide from. In order to cover his shame he’s signed up to a load of random websites and created a generic forum post, so that when you search for Daren Jesse Davis you find some boring generic stuff about his work, rather than whatever it is he’s running from.

They want me to attend a handover meeting this morning where I explain to other people how to do a job that only I’ve been working on and which I don’t really know how to do myself. Basically, I will just tell them, “Look at last year’s and figure it out.” That’s it. CBA. Doesn’t matter anyway, this job is on a secure server that only I have access to and it’s taken the outsourced company in India seven weeks to not give access to someone else who’s also being made redundant so the whole bloody meeting is a waste of time anyway because the job simply will not be done.

Morning Eps and gang!

Today is the first proper day of the film festival for me, and most of my friends haven’t arrived yet so I’m trying to be good and watch lots of films before the boozing takes over later in the week.

Watched 2 films last night and have tickets for 5 today. I’m normally on 3-4 a day, so we’ll see how it goes. It is just dark and cold up here so pretty perfect cinema conditions.

Doing a spot of WFH today as I was given an abrupt start to the year yesterday with the promise of lots of new work. Will hopefully get some time to do some spinning later.

severe case of the cbas today - not many people in so far, nothing actually in my diary to do other than a windows update that doesn’t work and IT can’t/don’t want to help me with. might do some training just for something to do.
