This is the level of thought that goes into my Civ games 
Most recently I had a problem that Napoleon was being really tetchy. He declared war on me, it ended in a bit of a stalemate. Later he demanded some gold off me, I basically told him to fuck off, and he declared war on me again. It went even worse for him that the first time, and I annexed one of his cities.
Because of his constant stupidity I left a whole bunch of troops along the border. This eventually upset him to the degree that he declared war AGAIN.
This ended with me annexing another city of his on our border, killing about 95% of his army, and destroying basically every tile improvement (farms, roads, mines etc) he had, to cripple his economy in the longer term.
He’s left me alone since then, hasn’t he.
