Android Oreo is currently annoying me hugely with it’s persistent icon telling me that an app’s running in the background. I know it’s running in the background, because I installed it; why do I need a stupid fucking icon permanently highlighting this fact? Almost makes we want to buy an iPhone, right up until I remember the price.

Gig-going DiSers with ear safety concerns! Where’s good to get pretty cheap ear plugs? I’m seeing Shellac on Friday and I’m reluctant to have a repeat of last time I went to a gig where I had pretty bad tinnitus for about two days afterwards.

Aye, a few things have convinced me it’s a smart move. I remember seeing MBV and - during the legendary white noise freakout bit in ‘You Made Me Realise’ - thinking “ah, this isn’t that punishingly loud”… until I left the gig and realised I could barely hear anything
