TV/Netflix/Amazon Prime/Apple etc series thread for 2025

As ever, new year, new thread for any TV/streaming series discussion, though obviously feel free to set up a new thread/bump existing threads for individual shows if you want

Gonna have to play the 2nd last of us game before the next series comes out. Dunno how imminent that is but saw it in the upcoming stuff advert on sky.

Still watching Cross with the wife but oh man it is so so so grim. Two episodes to go. Don’t think I’d bother if they get another series out but I’ll finish it off nonetheless.

Watched a chunk of Mr Loverman last night. Really good stuff!

Currently doing a rewatch of Severance s1 in prep for the new series in a couple of weeks.

Also looking forward to this Kore-eda series on Netflix next week

Decent start to the year!

Watched missing you on Netflix. Absolute fucking nonsense. Great hangover tele.

Some good shots of Manchester

After the Party - so far, great. Lots going on, start actors, Aussie high school boys who won’t touch a rat.

Silo S2 - enjoyable nonsense from the down deep

Might watch Blue Eyed Samurai again. Next season isn’t until 2027 :sob:

Hiya Slicky! Hope you’re doing ok.
I enjoyed After the Party too. Really well acted and the scenery looked absolutely amazing

It’s not all that similar on paper but have you seen Scavenger’s Reign? If you like Blue Eyed Samurai then you might like it too

I keep seeing that and it does look very cool, mind blowing stuff. Will watch it this week I reckon.

If you are looking for the new Peaky Blinders, this may well be it.

Disney+

So it won’t be the new Peaky Blinders.

Why not?

Peaky Blinders took off because it was on prime-time BBC1 and had huge viewing figures with the absolute maximum audience reach. There was some discussion over the last few days about how many people in Britain actually watch uber-hyped streaming shows, with BARB figures revealing Beast Games has in its first couple of weeks attracted about the same number of viewers as a BBC2 daytime repeat, and I have some memory that at least the first episodes of Rivals didn’t even manage that.

UK viewing figures on streaming is a completely meaningless metric now surely

Apple TV free this weekend
