Internet consensus seems to be nothing official about it being the last like this but someone said they remembered S3 being ‘the last’ originally and then we heard they were filming a S4 back to back with it so that meant we assumed S4 would end it.

I’ll watch pretty much any BBC 30 minute comedy show (although consistently funny shows are increasingly rare and they tend to be more mildly humourous/tender) and that continues with series 2 of Only Child (Greg McHugh, Gregor Fisher, created by Bryce Hart).

There’s a difference to season 1, however, that has compelled me to post here; the tone is all over the place. The main character, Richard, was a sad sack semi-loser in season 1 that you half pitied and half rooted for. But now the set pieces he gets into are sub-Brent levels of awkward cringe, and it makes the character totally unlikeable and impossible to get behind. Just keep watching it thinking “who would actually want to spend time with this prick, are we meant to believe he’s still liked by his close family/friends?”.

Yeah, started watching this thinking it was the Sam Claflin one from last year and was pleasantly surprised when it wasn’t. Know what you mean about belting through it - crazy that the film version with Jim thingy and Guy Neighbours seemed less rushed and was shorter.

For BBC 30 minute things, Trying (was on Apple I think) is really lovely. 3 seasons of loveliness. A bit like Lovesick was lovely. Lovely.

Still is on Apple. Season 6 is about to start

Overall I really enjoyed S2. Was a bit tough at the start but then I recalled finding the pace and yelling of S1 hard to take at the beginning and frankly could still have done with this show just running with a little more space to breathe. But a shorter run time helped I think, focused it more. Took me a long time to recognise Goose from Mad Max as Frank. Also Cath was a much more enjoyable character now she no longer had to be written as a potential murderer, which I felt was a slightly hampering aspect of S1’s “funny Broadchurch” concept.

Also am glad it really felt like they definitely didn’t want to leave it open for a S3. Hope they write more stuff we see, obviously, but trying to stretch this setup for a third would be too much

DTF Louis is amazing. I don’t approve of whatever David Harbour did to Lily Allen but I love him in this sorry

Been watching The Prisoner

If you like shows that are like ‘the one thing we can’t do is lose the prisoner’ minutes later - they lose the prisoner

‘Ok, but she will never make it’ She inexplicably makes it

Excellent nonsense watch
