Which of Jordan’s threads did they mention? From his rise.

The first episode was very introductory, presented him as a hard worker, someone who came to Chapel Hill without much of a rep but left as a hero, and quickly turned into the NBA’s biggest star, and one who notably avoided the drugs and booze and women of his Bulls teammates when he arrived. There was one reference to him preferring to stay at home and play cards… (Plus his 18 month “vacation” as he called it)

Episode 1. Not quite what I expected after the trailer. As someone who likes psychology podcasts, Hamilton’s Pharmacopoeia and Adventure Time* it’s not really surprising that I enjoyed it.

*Oh, and zombie movies

Is it suitable for kids? As in Adventure Time suitable ie I’m cool with the Lich

It had a “mature” warning, I think it was. Can’t remember if there were any swears in this episode, there is in the trailer up there. Bloody cartoon violence and drug chat. I don’t have kids so I’m not very attuned to what is and is not suitable, especially having learnt my nephew has seen the Thor movie.

Definitely more for the adults than Adventure Time

I wrote a thing about The Midnight Gospel.

(I loved it)

Finished DEVS last night, it was pretty good.

We’ve also just finished watching series 1 and 2 of The Sinner, which I really enjoyed and would recommend.

We’re enjoying Unorthadox on Netflix. Anyone else watched it?

The Plot Against America. First couple of episodes are decent and then it becomes pretty great. The final episode is one of the tensest episodes… of anything maybe?

In true David Simon fashion, towards the end he throws in an unnecessary and daft bit of plot that could have easily been avoided, but whatever, this will probably be the best telly I watch this year. Some extremely memorable stuff in there.

Yeah thought it was such a great little story. Shira Haas is a force of nature.

Almost at the end of Devs. Really good show. Freaked me out, in a good way.

Yeah I absolutely loved it. A chasm in how it and Westworld handles similar material.

Three episodes left of Devs. Absolutely brilliant

I thought Devs fell off a cliff in the second half. First four episodes were outstanding, but from the end of E4 where she gets arrested it felt like they’d ramped it up too quickly and were filling time. Three pretty boring filler episodes, and then an alright finale where nothing really came as a surprise cos it had been so heavily hinted at already.

Like a lot of Netflix things it would have been a really tight miniseries or film, but went on for too long.
