Constantine
Swamp Thing.

I know the clue is in the name but I always found it really frustrating that the mysteries were all… unsolved. Come back to me when you’ve got a resolution!

Was it Linda’s fault for the odd shelf idea, Handy Andy’s fault for not putting it up right, or the ladies for putting too much stuff on the shelves?

Linda and Handy Andy’s fault. The concept is stupid (far too easy to knock into it and for the objects to fall off anyway); the judging of the loading and support is substandard; and then they put a shelf of books on there for no reason.

I love hellblazer but I thought this was only a bit less disappointing than the film.

The main guy is very good and reckon it could have grown to be great in time.
He’s been popping up in the other DC TV shows in crossovers since.
A proper good budget and getting into dark horror would be a good way to go w streaming services.
Quite liked the film tbf.

Agree on the dark horror. Also it should be a question if Constantine is just a conman or can actually do all the magic stuff.

He’s been a regular on Legends of Tomorrow for the last… three years I think?

There was a whole section of the last season that involved them going to his house in “Northumberland County”, England. At one point they all went to get a bus, stood in a field, and one turned up going to “Downtown”. I absolutely love Legends because it’s so camp and silly and this was so woeful I can only assume it was deliberate.

(The last episode also featured a guest role by Sisqo, playing an animatronic version of himself. Obviously.)

Haha class.
Only watched the first 2 seasons of Legends as there’s just too much stuff and was suffering superhero overload. It’s def one of the most comic book-by adaptations too and proper Golden Age style silliness at times.
One of the best/worst bits ever in Legends was when they had to break into a Space Prison and the two lads look directly to camera and Wentworth Miller says: “don’t worry, this isn’t our first PRISON BREAK!”

I generally like the tone of the Arrowverse cos it’s closest to to the kind of TV SF I grew up watching in the late 90s but Legends is definitely the one worth sticking with imho. You’re bang on with the Golden Age comparison, if anything they only leaned into that more as the show has gone on, and it totally works for me as a result.

Arrow went on too long imo. Should have kept to the original 5 year plan.
Flash is good and very comic booky.
Only watched season 1.of Supergirl but was decent.
The prob with all the CW DC shows it that they’re all 20+ EPs a season and filler and padding of even individual EPs is a bit obvious. Shorter, more focused seasons like Titans on Netflix would be better imo.

The Netflix marvel series were guilty of this at 13 episodes too.

I tell you what’s turned out to be a lot better than expected: Gotham.
2 episodes left to watch, but the scope and some of the stuff they went with is pretty wild.
Not a lot of filler either.

I watched Gotham recently and thought it was brilliant, really entertaining with great world building. Shame the last season was shorter and I felt maybe it rushed the end a bit but generally one of the best and most enjoyable shows I’ve seen in ages.

Just started the last 2 EPs.
Will post thoughts later maybe:grin::+1:

Haunting of Bly House!

Might give Hill House a rewatch, but I think I’d just scare myself a lot

Hill House was amazing.
Looking forward to Bly House but tempted to watch it sooner to Halloween. (maybe with finale on Halloween night :ghost:)

‘I’m thinking of ending things’ is very bad. It was basically a rehash of ‘Eternal Sunshine’ but if that movie was very very bad.
