Just started watching White Lines on Netflix. What a load of fucking shite the main character’s accent is bloody rubbish. Also when was the last time Angela Griffin was on the box?

Yeah. I watched the first episode after the race reviews but it didn’t click with me and agree with you on the music students thing. Didn’t continue with it.

It’s got 4 seasons (who knew they did 4 seasons!).

aye i was shocked at how bad it was given the reviews, some of it was bordering on ludicrous she got caught sleeping in the music school on the first night but continued to go back and sleep there every night after anyway?

I’d stuck with it as I’d wrongly believed it was entirely based on a true story (so the more unbelievable parts i was willing to write off as I thought they’d actually somehow happened) but since found out that it’s only the bits in Williamsburg which are the same

Thank you!

Oh I agree that it’s not 100% believable but I thought it was great. I watched it having not heard of it and with no expectations; I wonder if you didn’t enjoy it because it had been hyped up too much and/or because you found out not all of it is based on the true story?

Aye i think it was a combination of the those two definitely, still glad you enjoyed it though!

I’m halfway through the first episode, is it worth persevering with?

I stopped within the 1st 30 seconds of episode 2 last night. Lawrence Fox turned up in those seconds doing a terrible accent. Game over.

It’s number one on Netflix so assumed it must be at least a little bit decent

It might be but, there is something about it that really rubbed me up the wrong way through the 1st episode and then Fox pushed me over the edge to turn it off.

It somehow just got a rave review in the guardian. It’s one of the worst things I’ve ever seen.

Pretty sure Netflix make up those rankings to promote stuff tbh.

yeah reckon people rewatching friends or something would be somewhere in the list (maybe it is I’ve never checked) but it is always just released netflix productions

Probably but also I can well believe some trashy garbage show is popular

White Lines is fucking ridiculous and terrible. Was expecting it to be more based in the 90s and kind of shot in that style and music to play a bigger part. Instead it’s less than 5% flashbacks to the 90s, everything’s got an annoying Instagram filter over it and most of the English cast are putting on rubbish northern accents. Laurence Fox is in it as well. Urgh.

Should have it finished by tonight
