Maybe the release of the record would place contractual demands on the band in terms of touring, promotion etc?
I suppose the real question is whether it’s gone to press or not? Promo costs three months out are one thing, but if they’ve pressed CDs and vinyl then that’s different.
Although, the statement does say he asked not to release it at this time - which means it’ll probably come out at some point.
