Failure, they’re were right good:
Quite liked St Johnny, though clearly SY/Sugar rip-offs:
I assume nobody has heard of these guys, but they released 1.5 good albums before it all started to go awry…
90s album art was so fucking lame
Buffalo Tom?
Can’t say if they were underrated in the 90’s but surprised they seem to have been a bit lost in time since. Sounds very of the era and loads of great songs
Think this was their hit
Had these on repeat for 2 days now
Can’t get into Failure, sound too much like a Nirvana clone
GvB are so good.
Failure also did the original of The Nurse Who Loved Me, which A Perfect Circle covered on their 2nd album. Apparently they were mates with Maynard, who got them on tour with Tool a few times:
Come were a decent band from the early-mid 90s formed I think by the drummer out of Codeine. Were on Subpop and Matador.
Best tune is called “String”, but couldn’t find a relevant vid, so have this one instead (German Song) of another single from the same album (Don’t Ask Don’t Tell from 1994). :
