They supported Radiohead at South Park in 2001 but they’d already made a big splash in 2000 with the first album. I saw them at this gig:
And that was just as they were about to be massive.
Yeah exactly. That was the era I was in 6th form.
Ah cool, sorry I thought you were saying the era was more 2002/2003. Apols.
I put the Múm album because it did come out when I started uni and was really popular, and I think people got mixed up because they kind of clumped all the Icelandic bands together.
Ah yes, I see. I never really got Sigur Ros to be honest. Interesting enough but too sedate for my liking.
Not bad. 91 actually, although I was back there often up to 94.
Let’s have a go:
Radiohead - Kid A Deftones - White Pony Dandy Warhols - Come Down and 13 Tales Rival Schools - United By Fate Interpol - TotBL MBV - Loveless The Music - The Music (oh yes)
[2004 MINUS 1 year to account for DiS people getting into the album pre-popular acclaim]
graduated in 2004
very high quality #content here, just the sort of thing we should be seeing on the new boards. @sean should give you a payrise
This thread is so much better than I was expecting - #goodcontent
Here we go!
Close! I’m aught-three as well.
Ha! Stick to the formula @profk
I’m absolutely certain this is a 2010 graduation.
So following leads from my picks earlier on I’ve discovered two things. The first is that bands in the early nineties really loved doing their videos in fields and the second is this, which I think is possibly the most banal news story I’ve ever read:
Poor Rowetta. Girl can never catch a break.
and I’m so sure about it that I’m going to have a pop at the city the university is in too.
Its Leeds.
Merriweather Post Pavilion, Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, the first Vampire Weekend and Odd Blood by Yeasayer all bring back uni memories for me. probably cos they’re the ones i haven’t heard much since then.
2012, like me.
Sex on fucking Fire, Hot N’ fucking Cold and Mr fucking Brightside
