damn. i always thought people only started listening to mum once sigur ros got big (2005ish).

Sigur Ros were really popular way before that? I was listening to them in Sixth Form, and so were plenty of other people I knew, along with Mogwai, GSYBE etc.

Yeah, no doubt that drownedinsound types would have listened to them earlier than Takk, but I’m pretty sure its their best selling record right? remember it being all over the tele at the time.

They supported Radiohead when they toured Kid A, and Ágætis byrjun got a lot of press coverage when it came out.

should have been, but i was forced by the head of department to do an extension in my 3rd year cause of health reasons :head_bandage:, so 2015

However in 2005 or so I went to see Sigur Ros with my mum, so I guess they had hit the mum/early teens kids by that point then.
