It’s going round in circles. The mods are having a discussion about setting out some new policies. They need time to do so. Until then everything is conjecture, navel gazing and a bit pointless. I do appreciate that some people will feel in limbo though x

Airing of grievances is not necessarily a bad thing, as it can help inform that discussion - I agree, though, without a concrete proposal I think it will be hard to have any movement

It’s good for people to get stuff off their chests though I think. It may as well be done in here rather than left to fester any longer. These mass ventings might not seem necessary to everyone but I think so long as people keep it civil they’re kinda cathartic for those getting involved.

i think people are wondering why you thought it would be a good idea to delete it in the first place, and then given a near universal reaction of “that shouldn’t have happened”, they’re then wondering why you’re not admitting to your possible mis-judgement of the situation?

I think because people who aren’t Ghostpony saw it and were wondering the same thing thought someone was just trying to censor all mention of anything to do with that thread. She would have known, but no-one else did.

Like, I totally get your thought process when doing that and understand why you went down that route - you’ve explained it pretty well and I can see the justification - but I do think it’s a rare misjudgement and a transparent answer in public might have worked better.

I stand by my position on that thread but as Niki knows defending it takes several paragraphs and screenshots.

It’s clear, as I stared, that no one agrees in any case. I am sorry for letting DB’s closure stand when I discovered it, it looked fine to me.

I’m sorry people feel my comments to meow were harsh, I simply did not want it to seem that the buck stopped with DB in that thread when ultimately I had later seen and accepted her view.

This thread starts with everyone banging on about what was deleted FFS. I specifically replied to Guntrip asking about that, check the thread chain.

I hope the message to GP assuage whatever it is that you are trying to get?

I’ve just looked back. It was GP herself that mentioned her deleted post - and she did briefly summarise your reasoning - but she didn’t mention it was you that did it, so until you mentioned it in this thread, I think everyone else assumed that it was a Leader acting in the background.

I think this is where we need a bit of clarity and transparency as to who has what powers. I knew that her post had been deleted, but not who by, but because nobody knew that leaders can’t delete things, there was a lot of ambiguity and uncertainty.

Anyway, enough of all this, I’m off for a haircut.
