I booked a ticket for Bristol last night, spooked by the ‘we’re down to our last 25’ message from the promoter.

I think I just whooped for joy seeing Aldous Harding is coming to Newcastle in May 2019.

Go on your own. Don’t let that stop you.

90% of the time I go to shows on my own, although it never really bothers me as I always strike up conversations with fellow gig-goers. So many solo gig-goers who are just itching to talk to someone between sets.

I’ve weirdly got a few things booked

Black Midi (never listened to them I just got swept up the hype)
Boy Harsher
ESG
Caterina Barbieri and Shackleton at Re-textured

Thinking about:

Label Mates fest
Test Pressing fest
Photonz
Shabazz Palaces
Capitol K
Oneohtrix Point Never
Alex Zhang Hungtai

99% sure i’ll do Labelmates, mainly for n0vel, Black Country New Road and Squid. Also pretty sure Black Midi will do the speedy wunderground/moth club leg as they’ve just recorded their album with Dan Carey who runs that label.

Need to see set times before I buy though, if not i’ll just buy tickets for Moth.
