Upcoming gigs - the 2017 edition

So we’re now into a fresh year of gig going. So what have you got marked on the calendar?

Mixed bag for me, veering from twee indie-folk to classic American rock via thrash metal, garage rock and tone deaf mancunians.

Aberfeldy @ Hug & Pint
Randolphs Leap @ Broadcast
Anthrax @ Barrowland
Michael Cassidy @ King Tut’s
Pulled Apart By Horses @ King Tut’s
Japandroids @ The Garage
The Stone Roses @ Hampden (my mate really wanted to go, ok)
Tom Petty @ Hyde Park

There’s a few mibbes as well including Helmet, New Model Army and Enter Shikari and whatever Radiohead are doing on Glasgow Green.

Now step forward those with better taste and bigger plans…

I saw Randolph’s Leap in a church a few years ago at Long Division in Wakefield. He has some really great lyrics so it was nice to see him do an acoustic set in a quiet building, was definitely a standout of the day.

Only gig on the horizon at the moment is The Hotelier at the Wardrobe in Leeds. Might see if anyone I know is up for seeing Beach Slang as they’re in Leeds soon. Hoping to find a good festival to go to this summer, maybe somewhere abroad.

Trying to decide if I can afford to see Springsteen in Auckland in late February.

Your France trip sounds amazing!

Thanks, it’s definitely a good week to be in Paris!

Got a couple which are a little way off, but I’m nonetheless excited about:

Black Peaks, early Feb
Foxing, mid March

Both at The Cookie in Leicester, which is becoming a really good little venue for attracting decent bands.

Only got 2 booked so far - De La Soul and KRS-One.

Hoping to see Dr Syntax & Pete Cannon in a few weeks too.

Oh and ArcTanGent again in the summer.

Breeders coming to Belfast in June sadly but they are the best band ever so I’ll be there.
Not a whole lot more, might go to stone roses, but the crowd was awful when I went the first time round so ehhh
