Great leaderboard for the weekend - Garcia, Fowler, Spieth, Rose, Mickelson, Rahm, Scott, Couples, McIlroy all within 5 of the lead, plus a load of oustiders still hanging around. I fancy Fowler, Spieth and McIlroy to all go under 70 today, Fowler to be leading on his own by the end of the day.

I think he’ll be there or thereabouts at the end but Spieth is going to win it. He got his bad round out of the way early and is now wrapped up in some annoying American dream type narrative involving redemption, true grit and winning. God will probably get a mention or two, and use of the word blessed.

His putting has been so good when it’s usually so brittle. If he gets a few 6 footers for par early on that don’t go in, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards.

I hope he wins though, would be a #wonderfulstory.
