Just to clarify for my own sake, I specified the alt-right part there because the right-wing threat is obviously the GOP

Hawley, Cruz, Rubio and Greene are hoping it will be them, but I think it will be someone off the internet.

Also I think Q will spin off to become its own party like the Know Nothings. McConnell thinks he can control it and use it for his own purposes, but they’re going to turn on him at some point

Sadly it’s too much to hope for proper fragmentation that will reduce GOP voter numbers overall, because cons gonna con together, but I think that you’re right in the QAnon as a party thing, and they’ll act as a pressure group - remains to be seen whether that sort of UKIP approach can work in the US

I can see there being a big split/possible conflict between the Don’t Rock the Boat Big Business Repubs and the QAnon ones, especially due to geography. The current Qanonners picked obscure, poor rural safe seats to stand in (and in MTGs case, got her followers to intimidate her Dem opponent into dropping out). There’s def potential for turning their followers against each other. Like “those big business Deep Staters are against us”.

Or rival heirs to Trump emerge, and gather loyal followers who are pitted against each other.

Thought this was a really good deep dive into the psychology of Qanon, tying it together with the rising wave of hard right politics throughout the western world.

So apparently the daughter was on American Idol and Kellyanne made a surprise appearance. Don’t understand why she isn’t being prosecuted for the photo incident.

Suspect even worse things about that family will come out in time.

There’s definitely a lot going on there. There was a good TrueAnon episode with a private eye recently who had a whole bit about them, apparently Kellyanne at least is a spook, so who knows the full story.

A lot of the episode was about Guliani and it made the good point that for all he might be a total evil scumbag, he really can’t be an idiot, and his past career as a prosecutor and NY politician means he has dirt on everyone and connections everywhere. Why he’s spending his twilight years embarrassing himself for Trump, I have no idea.

People said this when he took office, that he’d never make it to the end because he runs on grease and Diet Coke. It was wishful thinking. Some people are so full of spite and preservatives they just keep going indefinitely. I don’t think there’s any level of clear physical or mental decline that could stop him running if he’s so inclined.

A friend and I were absolutely certain his Scottish genes would see him dead from heart disease long before the end of his first term. It seems his inability to feel stress due to inherent sociopathy kept his blood pressure just low enough though. :slightly_frowning_face:

Much less than I would have thought tbh

No idea if Trump will be the candidate again in 2024 (and not inclined to care until we get to 2024) but age is immaterial especially in the world of US politics - Pelosi, Feinstein etc. Kissinger is almost 100 and still going!

Beer bonging adrenochrome so I can keep my withered talons grimly affixed to the select committee for blackout apportionment into my 100s, all so my idiot grandchildren can do a tech start-up that promises the DNC to automate voter registration but then somehow kicks 10 million more people off the rolls.

How it works is: good people die relatively early, bad people live until they’re 105

I hope Kissinger never dies and is forced to endure unimaginable horrors for the rest of his days.
