US politics thread: Will he wriggle out of this juice?

Christ! He’s still President! The election was rigged! If the Hard Rock Cafe says so.

Do you think he scheduled it for the wrong Hollywood, in some kind of unintentional sequel to Four Seasons Hotel?

Just imagining - though I’m somewhat struggling to clearly imagine - a man who lived before any Edison invention leading a 21st century military operation. Glad Trump’s most senior role now is making Jim’ll Paint It submissions that the artist ignores with a maximum of 2 likes.

Yes the contradiction that Lee would have won a war he actually lost is quite entertaining.

I looked a couple of weeks ago and Trump was 6/1 on becoming the next President. Which is both funny, but actually quite chilling at the same time.

He is much better suited at penning these unhinged ‘From the desk of…’ things for our lols than actually having the nuclear codes…again.

Unvaccinated Americans are disproportionately non-white and low income, you guys are cheering on something that will mainly be used to screw over black people, well done. Also Americans will continue to demand that kids be pointlessly vaccinated anyway

kids: famously immune to viruses

Not that simple is it.

The british Joint Committee for Vaccination and Immunisation have advised against giving the vaccine for 12-15 year olds

For otherwise healthy 12 to 15 year old children, their risk of severe COVID-19 disease is small and therefore the potential for benefit from COVID-19 vaccination is also small. The JCVI’s view is that overall, the health benefits from COVID-19 vaccination to healthy children aged 12 to 15 years are marginally greater than the potential harms.
Taking a precautionary approach, this margin of benefit is considered too small to support universal COVID-19 vaccination for this age group at this time. The committee will continue to review safety data as they emerge.

Whereas Los Angeles school district is saying all over 12s have to be vaccinate to attend school.

Mandatory vaccination of that age group when there are so many unanswered questions is extremely risky and may increase future vaccine hesitancy.

That recommendation is based over concern over an extremely rare side effect of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines which can causes heart inflammation (current figures have this at about 60 cases per million vaccines in this age group). It’s not blanket advice against vaccination. Given that children without other complicating medical factors have died from Covid (albeit very rarely) and it is proven that children can contract long Covid after even very mild Covid symptoms (also that asymptomatic or mild case children can infect others of higher risk), calling vaccination of this age group “pointless” is pretty ignorant.

(I know you aren’t doing this - the previous poster was)

Pointless or benefit too small, same difference.
Access to education should not be dependent on this factor.

Would have been interested to see the lib parent reaction if it was trump mandating vaccines with little evidence of their usefulness on that particular age group.

It really isn’t. The Joint Committee for Vaccination and Immunisation are saying that the benefit is too small to advise on universal vaccination at this time, although this may change in the future. It’s a long way from saying it’s ‘pointless’

Just picturing Biden following that up with a “now watch this drive…”

Or is it?

A draft report of the Republican audit in the state’s Maricopa County confirmed Biden’s win. According to the Washington Post: “After nearly six months and almost $6 million — most of it given by groups that cast doubt on the election results — the draft report shows that the review concluded that 45,469 more ballots were cast for Biden in Maricopa County than for Trump, widening Biden’s margin by 360 more votes than certified results.”
