it’s mad watching this happen in real time.

So, on Friday we published a new updated Q&A about Venezuela on our global site that’s well worth a read for those interested

It’s very comprehensive & answers a lot of questions, right up to the minute

here’s the footage

NYT article says the same dude was also filmed throwing another bomb at a different aid truck

Is this just theft?

It’s not.

The gold is collateral for money that the bank has lent to Venezuela. As the country has not paid back the loan, the bank takes possession of the collateral.

This is how bank loans work.

If I’m reading this right,

Venezuela tried to take out 1.2b in gold from BoE, and werent allowed
And this led to them defaulting on the first installment of a loan from city bank (the gold is the collateral)

So: Brits at it again is my (possibly incorrect) summary

Yep that’s my reading too.

Theres plenty of people trying to completely tank the economy to start a full humanitarian crisis that forces intervention and just as a lucky coincidence this will open up the oil fields for our corporate overlords

It matters to the people who work for those banks. If they violate US sanctions, they risk being arrested and convicted.
