Very successful artists you've never met anyone say they're a fan of

Bryan Adams

Wildly successful yet never met anyone say as much as they like an album. Not heard anyone proper slate him but I cant imagine meeting someone and them saying their favourite singer is Bryan Adams

My mum used to love him. I say used to, she may still do, I just don’t talk to her about music because her music taste sucks.

My ex’s friend was a huge fan, her favourite artist. I remember a quote from her from 1997 where she once told me in a Bideford nightclub that ‘he could just sing the word goat over and over again and i’d still love him’

Worked with a guy who said she was the only proper artist out there

We fired him for being a useless racist cunt

I work with someone who buys every new Mika and Owl City album on iTunes.

Nobody likes Owl City

Does Bob Mortimer count?

Also back in the old DiS days someone was DJing a 1991 night and I pitched Auberge to them, which apparently filled the floor.

Any of the fretboard wanking solo guitar folks. Joe Satriani and Steve Vai constantly selling out massive venues full of nobody

Love auberge. Had it on cassette single.

I know many Post Malone likers

I was recently exposed to this which I found very distasteful

And she might be wearin’ white, but her first dress, it was pink
She might be your better half, yeah, but she’s my everything
We’ll both love her forever, but I loved her long before
And one day, I know I’ll give her away
Buddy, that don’t mean she’s yours

Was expecting dogshit mumble rap, not dogshit mawkish country. Post Malone. Truly a man of surprises

Looking at this list:

Never met anyone who’s said they’re a fan of:

  • Garth Brooks
  • Barbra Streisand
  • Julio Iglesias
  • Katy Perry (though Firework is utterly ubiquitous)
  • Chris Brown :grimacing:
  • Lil Wayne

Lil Wayne was good at some point. Katy Perry’s best singles stand up with any of her massive pop contemporaries (the bad stuff is much worse though)
