Video conferencing software

Need something free that I can use for up to 5 participants. Don’t really need much functionality aside from video/audio and screensharing. Whiteboard and remote desktop control would be nice but not massively essential.

Heard some good things about Jitsi? idk.

I would recommend Jitisi. I’ve used it alot over the last year or so instead of Zoom and find it much preferable, meets your requirement of video/audio and screensharing - not sure about the other features though sorry.

its locally hosted too, right? does something bad happen if the host drops?

I think it can be locally hosted but don’t think it has to be. Not sure on the answer on that sorry, never experienced drop.

Does everyone need to share / present? If it’s just you, then go for what you like, but if it’s everyone, you’re better off using something that people won’t have to learn like Zoom or Teams. Life’s too short for the trauma of teaching people how to use software that they’re not invested into

yeah, innit. Just that Zoom are just a pretty shit company overall and don’t wanna shell out for the premium version tbh.

will try and make jitsi happen and pass along any tips.
