Vince Staples

May as well do a separate thread

nicceeeeeeee

I love Vince but I do feel like he’s got less and less to say. New track sounds like a greatest hits, Ramona Park :heavy_check_mark:️ Norf Norf reference :heavy_check_mark:️ Skinny carry strong heat :heavy_check_mark:

Personally I think he’s leaning too heavily on EDM beats. Fucking love ‘Hell Can Wait’, wish he’d put that out on vinyl.

Having said all that I cannot wait to hear the new record.

I was up late night ballin’, counting up hundreds by the thousands,

This will not leave my head.

HOT TAKE COMING THROUGH

This LP is better than DAMN

#10

Misread this as Vince Cable. How unfortunate.

#11

Very different LP but I’d probably agree. Kendrick’s feature offers you a tantalising glimpse of an alternative reality where he decided to make a more electronic album and knocked it out of the park :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

#12

I think this is lethal

#13

Yeah I love it

#14

the musical changes on ‘yeah right’ are brilliant

#17

good lad Vince

Can’t believe I missed Big Fish Theory last year, this is a fucking excellent album.

#19

It’s incredible isn’t it? Doesn’t top Summertime 06 for me, but it’s very strong.

#20

Have also been banging it after catching the end of his Primavera set. Will definitely be seeing him solo when he comes back around. My 14-track trimmed down playlist of Summertime '06 is one of my favourite things to listen to in the world.
