Crabs in a bucket was my favourite song from last year. Enormous banger

No ragrets about seeing Nick Cave at Primavera but his clash with Vince was a stinger

Out now!

Pitchfork have reviewed it already?!

They MUST have had it early, right?! Although the review’s not particularly thoughtful or in depth…

I mean it’s only 22 minutes long but still seems a bit quick for a review. They usually don’t rush them out that fast either, maybe they were really bored last night

Liking this btw - smart move for him to drop something low-stakes and fun at this point in his career, I think. Completely breaks out of the Vince Staples aesthetic we thought we knew. Love his work ethic as well - think this makes it a release every year since Hell Can Wait.

The Earl snippet’s intriguing. Head of A&R at Columbia’s been tweeting teasing a very imminent come-back. Hoping for something in the next couple of weeks…

Prince Vince :crown:

He’s the best! Agree that it’s a great move for him to release this kind of thing at this point in his career. Definitely did not see it coming.

awful artwork - is it meant to look like Dookie?

(haven’t listened yet but looking forward to it)

It’s very good.

About Earl though he reminds me of Cat Power a bit doesn’t put music out very often but, always seems to be doing something (basically those RBMA shows in his case)

Probably the first time anyone’s said this

This is really good. Wish they’d given E-40 a proper verse on FUN! though.

Think the artwork suits the project and helps position it as, perhaps, stood to one side of his weightier stuff.

Hope we hear from him soon this year. Feels like ages.

He released Summertime ‘06, Prima Donna, Big Fish Theory and FM in the space of three years, which I think will be the gap since the last one if this thing comes out in 2021.

Seeing Mike, Vince and a New Order sweater in one picture bodes very well - but I can’t quite wrap my head around where he’ll go from here. I’ve seen him make a lot of (correct) statements about how he should have broke much bigger, but a part of me thinks he’s too much for the mainstream - too smart, too cold, too uncompromising.

This would usually be the moment for a double album to prove his depth, but he got that out of the way on his debut…
