Alex Bleeker and the Freaks - How Far Away (2013)
One of Real Estate. Not the one who turned out to be a creep. Actually got a bit confused and thought this was his first solo album, which I remember really liking. It’s actually his second, which I have no memory of hearing at the time. Real Estate were great at this point though (albeit with the creep) so hopefully this is good.
Wild Nothing - Empty Estate (2013)
I remember this being the last WN record I cared about at the time. Haven’t heard it since then I think. Excited to check it out again.
A Hawk and a Hacksaw - Délivrance (2009)
I saw these guys at an ATP and they were so good. I also knew some of their records back in the day. I couldn’t work out from the sleeve which one this is, but the sticker only had the band name so I assumed it was their s/t debut. It isn’t, it’s later than when I saw them or the stuff I heard at the time. I’m sure it’s great though!
Reading this back it just sounds like I mistakenly bought a load of the wrong records. It’s only a half truth!
Mogwai - Government Commissions
one of my all-time favourites. it’s been on my list for years but I’ve never seen it in a shop and only seen expensive copies online, then I saw it in two different shops in Edinburgh the other day. chuffed. not exactly a looker, mind.
