Watched this tonight
I said to my wife as it got started, “I bet this is going to make me feel really sad” and I was right but it was utterly fascinating and often very funny too. While it does touch on discussions of his childhood and abuse which was unconfirmed but very fucking obvious, it is more about Feldman and his band of “Angels” going on tour.
Many moments of incredulity and delusion follow and in these I kept thinking of the Bros documentary, but for every laugh there was another of coercive, controlling behaviour from Corey, sometimes towards the band, other times towards star struck fans. A benefit for Feldman being so low on the ladder means that he plays po dunk towns where nothing happens and an 80s celebrity turning up means that women are throwing themselves at him, just to have a story to tell and the film documents several of these.
It’s a depressing statistic that so many abused people go on to be abusers themselves and this documentary is further proof
