Did Buddy do it voluntarily as a crime of passion?

“Trixie, there’s just been a gunshot at your house!”
“Seriously? Result!”

Did Trixie ask Buddy to help her stage a robbery at the house and find Alex’s will. She told him they would be at the salon at a particular time. Only she poisoned Alex without telling Buddy. He arrives to ransack the house, finds Alex but is spooked and shoots him?

She goes to pick up the will from Buddy and says thanks for your help bye. He gets violent, she shoots him - then makes it look like suicide.

He did take it upon himself to disguise the original method of killing.

These are all good thoughts, detective.

Unfortunately not much of this tallies with what actually happened.

To protect the woman he loved?

I would like to see a TV detective show where instead of following up leads and sitting outside people’s houses in a car all night, all the coppers knock off on Friday at 5pm sharp and go home to watch the FA Cup final and drink all weekend, before reluctantly returning to the brutal murder investigation on Monday around 10ish.

Trixie poisoned her husband.
Buddy went round to the house, hoping Trixie would be there and he could declare undying love.
Alex was there; Buddy realised what had happened and shot Alex to cover up for Trixie killing him.
Trixie went round to Alex’s, found that he had poisoned himself in a fit of guilt, and shot him to make it look like murder-suicide. [Or she went round, they had an argument, and hook hand car door ice knife]

Sorry Boss,

I was out of the area following up a lead on the security alarm thieves for the CPS. I see that my fellow detectives and officers have things in hand so I’ll leave this to them; I’ve got a long shift ahead at Wembley tomorrow. Or is it Windsor? Can’t remember. Anyway, I’ll be in the usual time on Monday by which time I expect this’ll all be wrapped up.

OK, was Buddy present when Trixie poisoned Alex?

No. He was not.

Did Trixie tell Buddy to go round to the house? Or was he there coincidentally?

Just a coincidence but quite understandable given his job.

Hi team,

Turns out I’d been put on back-to-back shifts in Windsor on Saturday and Wembley yesterday for Non-League Finals day. Good thing we still get overtime!

Anyone able to summarise the latest for me?

Trixie poisoned Alex.
Buddy, a gardener, coincidentally discovered the death scene.
Buddy interfered with the death scene.
Buddy was in love with Trixie.
Neighbour hears a gun shot, Trixie is informed.
Trixie told Buddy she didn’t love him.
Buddy dies? Apparently by suicide but not.
Buddy’s death scene is interfered with. But apparently not by Trixie?

Also chief is shouting everyone coffee and doughnuts, especially the hardworking detectives who pulled doubleshifts dealing with the Chelsea Pensioners.

Almost correct. Trixie definitely interfered with Buddy’s death scene.

Had she and Buddy been having an affair?

Oh, Buddy had been slaying that hot puss for yonks.
