“was”

are you suggesting they did the surgery on board the train?

How did he get on the return train? Was he unconsciously dumped on it?

on the way back. how does he go from the hospital to the train without realising the surgery has worked? is he wearing bandages that fall off while he’s asleep or something?

maybe he had bandages covering his eyes (you fucking cunt)

I find this all a little far fetched.

Yeah he takes the bandages off at the exact moment the train is stopped in the tunnel.

Somehow it’s pitch black. Lights must have failed too, I guess.

must be a pretty long tunnel for no light whatsoever to get through

It must have been utterly pitch black. What a gyp.

WAIT

how would jumping out of a stationary train kill you?

Truly terrible

Oh, seems it was moving.

I hope we woke up from his jump, then walked to the end of the tunnel, realised he could see, and lived happily ever after.

The one between Switzerland and France, I’m guessing.

Maybe he’s not dead. I don’t think it says so.

We’re just conditioned to think that everything has to involve death.

I like how he can’t even wait to get home. “No, I simply must kill myself now, it is the only way”

Exactly.

No one considers any other options other than killing someone or immediately topping themselves.

“So do we make another appointment to take these bandages off, doc?”
“Nah, just wait a few hours and do it yourself. You’re on the train home soon? Perfect, just take them off on that.”

For my next answer, I’m going to assume the person behaves entirely rationally.

And get it horribly wrong.
