Surprising amount of warm plate ire in this thread. Loosen up a bit, warm a plate, live a little.

¯_(ツ)_/¯ I definitely appreciate the research but from a non-science point of view it works fine for me. Just takes the chill off the plates. Maybe I have rad plates?

Plates go on one of the empty rings on the hob, that does enough to warm them up. I put them in with whatever I am microwaving if it is leftovers. My parents and grandparents used to put plates in the top oven with it on “low”, but this just meant the plates were so hot you couldn’t even touch them. No need for that.

Always for dinner, heated on top of the eye kevel grill if it’s on, propped up at the back off the hob otherwise, unless there is salad on the plate- wilted lettuce, no thanks. Pay the price eating pasta off a plastic plate when camping though, almost instantly cold food, yuk. It’s a relatively recent habit though.
