JUST to clarify…that’s a spare oven on the same unit…not a whole extra oven.

do you have to wait for the spare oven to preheat as well?

When the kitchen was done last year, some of the salesmen tried convincing us we needed a warming draw like this for £400+. Told them where to go.

Like @wonton I do preheat plates in the “spare” oven of the double oven.

nah, 5-10 minutes from turning it on is enough to take the chill off your plates (hence reducing the risk of them cooling down your food too quickly)

Once heated plates so good they melted the wipeable tablecloth.

So not anymore. Except Christmas obvs

just constantly amazed at the idea that if your plates aren’t warmed then they’re absolutely ice cold and make your food inedible in minutes.

either you all eat really slowly or you live in an igloo.

My (very tory,) parents have a hostess trolley and always warm plates in that. My mum loves that thing - she is such a slow cook that I swear that she cooks one thing at a time and relies on the trolley to keep everything hot

So many burnt hands as a child
Hot plates are too hot to allow food to be eaten off your knees in front of the telly anyway
