We only need one word for that

A thread in which we make the English language much more manageable by getting rid of excess vocabulary. The words don’t need to be used in the same way grammatically so long as the meaning is broadly equivalent.

my rule for this would be you need to be able to put the word fucking in front of it for emphasis and for it to sound right.

“there’s fucking loads!” “look at that fucking dog!” etc.

Keep “lots” and “loads” as I think we need to be able to say when there’s more than lots, but otherwise happy to lose the rest.

Tin. I wouldn’t want a can of beans, whereas I could deal with a tin of beer

Different things entirely. A tin of beans, a can of pop. Not interchangeable.

Cans are made of tin

Tbh think words in general are becoming a bit redundant.
