They made a movie about him a few years ago - not entirely flattering but a real snapshot of a poor 60s/70s socialist, working class, hard-drinking, free-loving era that’s all but gone (certainly from the big cities)

But there’s literally hundreds & they’re all full of the pathos, romance, humour & innuendo you’d imagine from the description above

Definitely a strong parallel with Jake Thackray - not least because of his unique rich voice and folk guitar stylings

I am trying to get R to do his spellings when he is getting enormously distracted, as I am I who should be filling out job applications and planning maths.

taught all the kids today the importance of the election and getting their parents to vote, then I showed them my Corbyn tote, was a good moment especially as they had all just told me how tory their parents are. Given they live in a small and exclusive somerset village this is not surprising
