Sad to see King Samir finally go, but inevitable. His first and third seasons were excellent. His second and fourth just good. The fifth almost completely missed through injury, and last year a pretty impressive season in La Liga. Always thought we were a better, more fluid side with him than without, but a huge bell. Probably one of the top five bellends in the history of the Premier League.
Have a bit of sympathy for him, mind. Get the impression that French players of Arabic backgrounds have quite a rough time of it. I got the feeling that was the case on a more wider level when visiting France, particularly Paris. For me it kind of explains his personality a bit.
Antalyaspor have got a good deal. Think City’s owners have panicked at the possibility of a drugs ban on their watch and so have smuggled him out of the back door for pretty much nowt to get the remaining £15m or so of his wages off the books.
Could’ve been on of the best players in the world with a bit more focus.
