One point i would make is that Chelsea havenāt only made good buys to key spinal areas of their side, but Conteās swiftly improved players already there who were looking at best wildly inconsistant, like Pedro, or at worst like they were there to fulfil homegrown squad quotas, like Moses.
Iām not suggesting Pepās out of his depth, more that heās been let down by years of awful player recruitment before his time, and has walked into an unfit, top heavy squad, but iād be lying if i said i wasnāt expecting a little more from him.
