apparently that sensation inspired this Dali painting - the sticks are to hold you up, so you don’t fall (see also the dog on the left is held up with sticks too)

It’s called First Bite Syndrome, apparently.

I get this a lot with some beers - like an acid sting on the 1st glug

Similarly, if I have an injection or bang a part of my body really hard I can taste blood but there’s no blood in my mouth.

‘similarly’

Fappable calls this “armsy”

Oh is this not similar, or is it the same? I don’t mean I can feel it. I can taste it like I’ve got a spoonful of blood in my mouth. Sorry if this is the same as what you meant

Not particularly common I suppose but phantom limb syndrome. Being able to feel my left hand in its entirety 25 years after it was amputated is just bloody weird. Don’t get me started on when it itches!

When you’ve been on a boat for ages, you get off and your legs are a bit wobbly for awhile.

Land sickness. I had this for a few days once, it was awful, seemed to mostly be triggered when I was in the shower and I’d have to hold on to the walls!

:grimacing: That doesn’t sound fun.

Quite funny to think of some mad hard bastard pirate like blackbeard or someone struggling with the same phenomenon.

Now I want to see a skit of Blackbeard desperately coming up with increasingly bizarre reasons for staying on the ship in port.

Had so many incredibly vivid hallucinations about having fallen asleep with R in bed in the first couple of months. Properly messed with my head. Still have them on occasion now.

Had those so much, really horrible before you realise you aren’t even holding them and they are safely with someone else or in their safe sleeping whatever.
