Thursday was bacon and beans day though cos my mum had a hair appointment after work every Thursday so that was an easy dinner for one of us to make instead

My mum insisted that it was easier and more efficient to pack all your stuff in loads of small plastic bags when going on holiday rather than using a suitcase.

Laying the table for Christmas dinner with loads and loads of faff - baubles and other decorations, massive candles that take up too much space, ornate wine glasses and plates that you’re not allowed to actually use for drinking/eating from - only to remove it all after you’ve pulled the crackers and are ready to actually have dinner, in order to create enough space to actually have dinner/not despoil all the chintzy christmas crap

not owning a bin. She insisted (and insists to this day) that having a bin in the kitchen is stupid because it just encourages you to be lazy and doesn’t get emptied often enough and overflows. Much better to have a supermarket plastic bag on the worktop that you put rubbish in and take out to the wheelie bin at the end of each day

Having a cat but no cat flap therefore regularly having to clean up cat shit and puke off the carpet

My mum lives on her own now and does this.
It annoys me, but she doesn’t generate that much rubbish by herself, so she’s won this one.

I think having a cat flap is fairly specific to the relative safety of the area for the cat, so I can’t vote in favour of them.

this was not the issue. the cat spent long periods outside decided by chance of asking to be let out/come in and there being someone there to faciltiate this.
