Basically as long as my grades were okay, I could skive whenever I felt like it, which is the best approach imo

My Dad used to buy two items of snack. Like two pepperamis or two fudges. He would have one and me and my two sisters would share the other…

  • Teaches you fractions. And your place in life.

dad coming back from the shops with a treat was like the main event of my childhood I think. He used to do that thing where he was like ‘oh I forgot to get you a milky bar, sorry’, only to reveal it at the last moment

My parents made me go in all the time, no matter what. I think I used up all my motivation and drive between the ages of 8 and 17 :grinning:

reckon the fact that I had at one point at sixth form, 20% attendance in a subject and still got an A made me realize nothing really matters at the end of the day. if you get the work done and to a decent standard, so what if you spend 80% of the time in your pants eating sandwiches.

same. She would occasionally offer a packet of tunes on the way to the bus stop (regardless of ailment).

i have so many of these (that i know are not normal). my dad is very clearly undiagnosed autistic and didn’t always have a good grasp on what is age appropriate for kids.
