Desperately wanted to be in the Dennis the Menace fan club like my best school chum but wasn’t even allowed to read the Beano let alone be in the fan club. Ffs Mum and Dad.

Also, James (the band). There was a membership card, and a folder with photos in and so on. I think you got, or could buy some merch/records. It’s so long ago can’t be sure.

I dunno, it was probably because DtM was considered naughty and therefore a bad influence.

Was also not allowed to watch the Transformers cartoon - too violent apparently.
