Anyone else feel really claustrophobic in this weather? It feels like I can’t go and do half the things I’d normally do or go to the places I’d like to
aint even raining here
Less wet if you walk and take an umbrella.
Don’t believe in umbrellas
Then just extend your disbelief to rain and you’ll stay dry.
Or perhaps go out with an enormous mudgaurd over your head instead?
Full of hope that my creative output will be recognised as being great.
Setting myself for the inevitable crushing humiliation.
So basically it’s autumn again.
It’s bleak out there
Consider yourself lucky. I’ve just had an all staff email from our new director telling us how lucky she is to be leading such a dedicated team of IT professionals. I’m marginally irked at being referred to as dedicated but I’m completely outraged at being referred to as an IT professional.
My job title is Technical Director and one of our booksellers once introduced me as ‘Rob the guy fixing my printer’
I would kill for IT professional
In all seriousness I am quite offended. I could be and have the training to be an IT professional, but I chose not to be because whilst well paid it’s fucking boring.
I’m a data analyst: my specialist skills are analysing travel patterns on London transport. I resent being chucked into a department with a load of data warehousing nerds, and even worse “data scientists” pissing about with useless Python scripts and worthless, but “cool” machine learning algorithms.
If I wasn’t planning on retiring at the earliest opportunity I’d be starting to think about making a claim for constructive dismissal.
