So I’m not allowed to heat my house?

Gf set ours to 22 the other day and I thought I was actually going to die.

Yes I am a lizard.

(I actually just have very poor circulation)

i have another stage but this is a family website

GRIM

Keep a box of tissues by the bed like a sophisticate

This thread seems to be populated by the elderly. Its not even that cold I’m still going to bed naked without socks and I am still too hot (granted I am tougher than most)

Aye.

It’s scandalously expensive, though.

Costs £5ish a day to heat our flat during the winter, which doesn’t sound like a huge amount of money, but if you’re out of work or on a low income £150ish a month kind of is.

Been enjoying the boiler/central heating chat in here. Could do with a bit more of it. Worth a thread on its own?

  • Yes, a thread on boilers and central heating is just what we need today
  • Please do not make that thread

Turns out it already exists. Poll is void.

That is a lot how big is your flat? Surely with all your electricals on this must create some heat?

Still basically on zero heating atm. Will occasionally have a half hour blast of the radiator in the front room but that’s it. Very, very loathe to ever use it

My housemate’s girlfriend has evening and morning showers :expressionless:

Perfect. Can’t believe I missed that. Gonna go get stuck in.

I sometimes have morning and evening showers.

BUT WE’VE DONE THIS TO DEATH

Our house is so drafty I don’t think it’s capable of hitting 23.

same.

though i don’t mind having it on really (except for the fact storage heaters are wank), but the flat’s not cold enough yet.

It’s quite big, but more than that it’s top floor, and not been reinsulated since the 1980s.

It’s mad as fuck. Can’t get my head around it. I’ve tried three suppliers, different payment methods, three types of heater, got thick curtains, all that, but it’s basically double what it should cost.

The plus point is it’s very cheap from, say, March to August, so averages about £3 a day over the year, which still seems a bit expensive, but…
