Yeah I thought that. Prince, maybe? Though I don’t know his back catalogue well enough. There’s bound to be a 1 or 2/10 somewhere along the line (possibly)
The Fountain is far from a 1/10 in my opinion. Personally it is my favourite Echo & the Bunnymen album. I’d honestly give it a 8/10
(my personal last.fm)
There are later Prince albums I don’t know, but I doubt any of them are that bad.
I think Black Sabbath deserve the prize for biggest album to album decline, from Sabotage (a solid 8/10 record) to its successor Technical Ecstasy (3/10 if we’re being generous). Good effort.
Lou Reed - Transformer vs Metal Machine Music
Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation / Goo / Dirty vs NYC Ghosts & Flowers
not listened to any of his albums from the last two decades but if accidental racist is anything to go by I reckon ll cool j is in with a shout (radio / bad / mama said… to whatever bollocks he’s doing with brad paisley these days)
The Clash - London Calling vs Cut The Crap
Mark Kozelek Ghosts of the Great Highway 10/10
Yellow Kitchen 0/10
Has anyone said pixies yet?
Not yet, so go ahead
…is this a trap? Feels like a trap
Bowie? Pretty much anything from the 70s is a 9 or 10/10. Never Let Me Down is horrendous by comparison.
Oh no, it’s not a trap. I’m not into traps. (I’ve not heard the new Pixies stuff).
Yellow kitchen is great
Eh. Nah there are plenty of bands with a much bigger gulf than bowie
Early Elvis Presley lyrics blah blah blah
By no means a 0 to 10 but I was just thinking yesterday that the gulf in quality between Licensed to Ill and Paul’s Boutique/Check Your Head/Ill Communication is pretty huge
Licensed to ill is great.
Have to respectfully disagree. Some definite highlights but not a good album imho opinion ![]()
might be looking at origin of symmetry through rose tinted glasses cause i loved it when i was a kid, but i reckon it still stands up as a really decent album. gulf between that and what muse are churning out now is huge.
