What bands did you manage to see at their peak?

i’ve seen most of my favourite bands over the years but can’t actually think of that many i saw riiiight when they were touring their best album (for bands that have had more than one or two albums)

saw Beach House touring Teen Dream, which i always forget about
Frightened Rabbit touring Midnight Organ Fight (it had been out about a year at this point i think)
Twilight Sad touring Fourteen Autumns (as a support act though)
Wild Beasts touring Two Dancers (and won my ticket in the venue’s pub quiz)
Animal Collective touring Merriweather (Strawberry Jam would have been better actually - although didn’t they mostly play new Merriweather stuff on the SJ tour?)

i’m not accepting ‘Sufjan touring Age of Adz / Carrie & Lowell’ answers because obviously his peak was Illinois

Sing the Greys is controversially my favourite record they made so you absolutely can

Arcade Fire twice on The Suburbs tour. They were incredible.

in fact i had spent most of the gig eagerly anticipating the Sing the Greys tracks as i had listened to it far more than Organ Fight

Arcade Fire on the Neon Bible tour
Kid A no logo big top show and Glastonbury 2003
Idlewild just after 100BW
Los Campesinos in Bristol around RiB.

had a ticket for The Suburbs tour and couldn’t make it due to snow so didn’t get to see them until Reflektor

however Funeral is the obvious peak here

I’d dispute that, but I think there’s a good argument to be made that their live peak was touring The Suburbs.

i guess Future of the Left touring Curses, though at the time i thought of them as an extension of mclusky so it felt slightly post-peak

Sae Arcade fire in 2007 and 2010 and can confirm they were utterly sensational in 2010. They’re still decent, but they had absolutely everything right in 2010. Rewatched the Reading set tonnes of times.

Klaxons is the band that comes to mind first. Leeds festival. Great but also, terrible.

Just remembered Portishead after Third. Which was… somewhat better in comparison. Would pay absurd money to see them again.

Big Thief before Capacity came out

One of my first ever gigs was that Arcy Fire in 2007 in Manchester, think i agree they were better in 2010 tho

Smashing pumpkins melon collie tour
Converge Jane Doe tour
Mars Volta Frances the mute tour
Radiohead Big Top after kid A
Cursed final tour
Low following C’mon (just a few shows around this time were incredible… Don’t think it’s their peak album wise…)

fugazi - they were constantly at their peak.
the blood brothers - likewise.
godspeed you black emperor! - pre exclamation mark movement, in 2000.

No there isn’t

sounds like a good time to have seen Arab Strap actually. circa Red Thread?

Liars at that ATP halloween show at the forum some years back. Drums not Dead was their most recent record at that point. Outrageously good.
