I have become very bad at watching films at home again, only 2 of these weren’t in the cinema and one was checks notes the James Blunt documentary.

Watched quite a lot of films I didn’t really enjoy that much in July!
My MMOTM was when Mark Ruffalo’s down-on-his-luck record producer watches Keira Knightley’s crappy solo acoustic open-mic performance and a bunch of instruments around the stage start playing themselves to portray Ruffalo putting the pieces together for the hit song that is going to turn his career around in the (Oscar nominated) film Begin Again.
(MMOTMs can also be bad!)

best: challengers / the night of the hunter
worst: argylle (better than i thought it would be, but still shit)
movie moment of the month: the 20 seconds or so in the basement where night of the hunter turns into home alone

Best: Perfect Days by quite some distance. Loved every minute of it, every frame.
Worst: Was going to be Thief which I found the love for to be completely baffling but then i watched Gran Torino the other night and it’s comfortably one of the worst films I’ve ever seen in my life. White saviour nonsense and the world would be a better place if everyone just insulted people they knew with racist patter and they gave it back to you so we all grow thicker skin, easy.

I’ll give you this. Best part of it was the soundtrack, which I loved.
Don’t get it tbh. I know there’s an appeal to actors who just do the same character in every film they’re in but he just doesn’t work for me. Find him a bit ridiculous.
