🎞️🎦 What Films Are You Watching? January 2025 🎦🎞️

Could be a good month. Some supposed bangers incoming: Nosferatu, Nickel Boys, The Brutalist amongst others.

Let’s have some fun

December bests:

Blitz
Wicked
Femme
Queer
Hayao Miyazaki and the Heron
Happiest Season (r)
Dune 2 (r)
Firebrand (r)

December was almost entirely re-watches for me, except for Your Father was Born 100 Years Old, So Was the Nakba (short about Israel’s colonisation of the filmmaker’s father’s village in Palestine), An Ostrich Told Me the World Was Fake and I think I Believe It, A Charlie Brown Christmas and The Promised Land (didn’t hit as hard as I hoped, still good)

watched Strictly Ballroom last night, that was nice

Kind of loved caught by the tides

Best - The Wind Rises, Serpico, Trancers
Worst - Pirates of the Caribbean 3
Disappointment - The Long Kiss Goodnight, expected better from that cast and director/writer combo
MMOTM - Pacino’s succession of hats and hairstyles and pets in Serpico, literally laughed out loud at each new one

Thinking I might get a cinema run of Nosferatu, Nickel Boys, Perfect Blue and Run Lola Run within a week :muscle:

MMOTM was definitely the seal on Feathers’ lap in Vengeance Most Fowl

Relaxer is a really good oddball. Watched it cause I really liked Alchemist Cookbook. Yer man from Late Night With The Devil challenges his brother to not move from his sofa until he beats Pacman. If you wanted to see The Exterminating Angel set amidst the Y2K panic with a cameo from the Freak Like Me singer and plenty of THPs footage, go for it

MMOTM: Godzilla uses the web of a giant spider to make a sort of bolo thing, spins round and round to send the spider flying over the horizon, and then impales a giant ant on an electricity pylon
